Following discussions with local residents in Conisbrough and Rossington, it was great to ask my colleague Eddie Hughes what can be done to ensure HMOs do not disrupt village communities.
It is the Government’s view that DMBC has the powers to prevent the licensing of HMOs and I therefore advise all concerned residents to get in touch with the Council should this issue be affecting them and their neighbours.
It should be said that HMOs play an important role in providing housing to many people. Yet it is my view , and the view of residents, that they are inappropriate in the many close-knit communities that make up Don Valley.
